Since 2018, we’ve been transitioning to focus on minimising our environmental footprint. We are now committed to offering eco-friendly pest control services to the border region.
Read on to find out more about how we’ve been achieving this.
Most pest control companies in Australia don’t use extremely harmful chemicals in their work. The chemistry registered for pest control in Australia is normally relatively safe, if used correctly and safely.
But there’s more to eco-friendly pest control than just selecting the right active ingredient. Choosing a high-quality chemistry formulation (no cost-cutting), avoiding broad pest sprays, and having a good environmental policy are just some of the ways that we try to limit our impact on the environment.
We acknowledge that it’s not possible to completely avoid harming a small amount of unintended insects. But in our treatments, we do our best to limit our impact on unintended species.
Some examples of how we do this:
Emulsion concentrates are used a lot in the pest control industry. They are cheap and easier to mix in a spray tank. However, they require the use of harmful solvents and surfactants to mix with water.
We try to avoid the use of emulsions, and instead use suspension concentrates. This type of formulation eliminates the need for nasty solvents. They are non-staining and odourless as well.
Our company doesn’t do broad spraying. We understand the behaviours of the pests we treat and we target our spray applications accordingly.
This means that we can effectively control your spiders and other pests while using minimal pesticides. We don’t compromise the effectiveness of our treatments though. We’ll still meet your expectations for high quality service and effective control of your pests.
We’ve still got some way to go to improve the way we implement our environmental approach.
We will replace our petrol pumps with battery powered electric pumps by 2023
We plan to be carbon neutral by 2025.
Our intention is to replace our utes with hybrid or electric vehicles as soon as something suitable is available.
